Intro Letter
Hey, I’m Johnney, and I am notorious to my friends for sharing my terrible opinions and ideas for many to see. No seriously, when it comes to online media I don't think I have a mind to stop me from sharing things I should not be sharing on the internet. Maybe that’s why this class would end up being perfect for me. I guess that makes me a writer, huh? When it comes to english classes every year I always almost never enjoy writing because I typically only get to write about boring prompts on a crazy man poisoning his family with fugu fish, or beautiful men washing up on shores. Blogging on my opinion this year will definitely be a nice change of pace.
If it isn’t obvious enough, i’m not huge on writing. I have never been in the right mentality to write because it has almost always been writing stuff that frankly, I do not care for. The blogging and writing that this class offers me definitely has my eye caught though. In fact that might even be one of my goals for this year, is to enjoy the blogging, its something new, I might end up liking it after all since I don’t know when to stop sharing my opinions. It kinda gives me high hopes and provides me with excitement.
Writing is tedious. I feel as if whenever you don’t write about something you enjoy you’re not gonna write as well, it feels as if you’re being forced to do it and you’re not in the WRITE mindset. See what I did there? Having the right mindset is important, it makes you a better writer, it lets topics come to your mind easier and helps you keep the flow alive. When in the right mindset writing is easier. You won’t always be writing about stuff you enjoy, and the best thing I can say is gotta try to enjoy it. Something I want to really push myself to do this year, give writing essays on short stories and novels a shot and actually get myself immersed in the writing universe. Get myself to think “hey, writing isn’t too bad”
In reality, writing isn’t too bad, you just have to be able to be in that writing mentality, let it come to you and really just appreciate the words coming to your mind. That’s the biggest thing about it and something I definitely want to experience this year. I have very high hopes for English 101 and think that this may be the class that pushes me to really dislike reading, to really just immersing me in thought with me and my computer. Blogging is gonna be such a different mentality for me and just a really enjoyable thing i will be able to experience writing about. I mean, writing this one blog alone really is eye opening itself, so paired up with the goals I set myself for the year, I think it’ll be a pretty dang good year for EN 101

Intro Letter Reflection
Looking back on this writing, I can happily say that that my opinion on writing has made a full 180 turn around, I went from not liking how I write something, to really love how I put my heart into the computer screen. It's really crazy that One semester and a bunch of assignments can do that to someone. I believe that when you really write something your passionate about you put in a lot of your emotions, and thats what this class has successfully done for me. Just like I knew it would ENG 101 definitely did not disappoint and really left an imprint in my heart as probably one of my favorite classes i'll take in college. Professor Nisbett really showed me that everyone can be a writer, even when they believe they can't. Although writing can be very tedious and exhausting, overall in order to enjoy and excel in it you must have the passion to do it. Sometimes expanding on it is probably the worse part of writing and figuring out how to make it longer without sounding repetitive, but this class has really shown it isn't very difficult. I look forward to taking EN 102 with Professor Nisbett next year. She has really opened up my feelings and opinions and has told me not to be afraid to write as I feel and write about myself, it really has shaped myself to be a much better writer than I have ever thought I would've. Roll Tide to that.
